(Insert Cliché Vegas Phrase Here)

are going to Vegas tonight to have Thanksgiving with
We are leaving at home for obvious reasons.
Luckily are watching them for us while we're gone. Good luck guys!!!!
I know that are hoping that our Turkey looks a little something like this since they are the President and Vice President of the "Bacon Lovers Club." As treasurer of said club,I have to admit, it would be interesting to say the least.

I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with the family, all 10 of us crammed in 1 house for 4 days of eating until we can't eat no mo'.

I call dibs on the fold out bed in the front room!!!

Pen Pals!

So I received the best kind of mail you can get yesterday; it wasn't a bill or an ad, or a court summons and it was from my two favorite little Ely-ians(word for Ely people) and nieces, Julianna and Rebecca.
I scanned the cards from them but darn Adobe Acrobat(or Craprobat as I like to call it) won't let me load them on blogger....just take it from me, they are so sweet they almost gave me a cavity.

It made me realize how much I missed them and how having little kids around really make you feel younger, and older all at the same time. These girls bring out the kid in me(and the gas if there is Flarp around), and I wish we got to see them more. Oh and Kenna and Jerry too....love you guys.

Needless to say I am excited to have 2 new pen pals and I plan on writing as often as possible and hopefully Kenna will continue to help them with their spelling so I can actually read the cards. :)

P.S. Girls- no worries, I will write soon
Love, Aunt Jennifer

Sheesh, glad I voted already so I can avoid this----

Home Means Nevada

I am so happy that I am a Nevadan if not for the mere fact that we love ourselves and are one of the only states that take a day off just to show how much we really don't like working and are self-centered. No matter the reason we have tomorrow off, I am just glad that we do. In your face IDAHO!!!! (I like picking on the weaker, smaller states, less chance of retaliation) This Nevada Day is a little more special than others because my entire family will be in Reno for the weekend. I can't wait to see Mom and Dad, Kenna, Jerry and the girls (oh and Brett and Sara too I guess). The last time we were all together was waaay too long ago. Can't wait to see what shenanigans we get up to this weekend :) Maybe I'll even blog about it.

Vote y'all! It's the American way!

So I saw this on http://www.foundmagazine.com/ and thought it really encompassed a lot about the American way of life. I like the order it is in, even though I'm pretty sure a lot of folks out there might do this in opposite way. Anyway, I voted early on Sunday and I just wanted to urge everyone to vote, I think it is so important and something that makes me proud to be and American. So, go vote(unless you support McCain, then please don't, I'm asking nicely, Thank you.)

The last 5 months (yes, I am posting on my blog, don't die Sara)

So life has been pretty busy and since the weather has been a little warmer you're more likely to find me outside rather than sitting on the computer blogging. Needless to say, I haven't blogged since March so I thought I would go through the months and give an update of what's been going on, not that I have anything too exciting to talk about :)

APRIL- I turned 25 on April 8th and we went to Cantina Los Tres Hombres for dinner. All my closest friends showed up and it was a great time...too bad it was a Tuesday night and I had work the next day so it was a pretty calm night. The ladies at my work got me butterfly and superhero cupcakes along with a card which had a hairy man with a thong on the front, can you tell that they know I have a sense of humor? At the end of the month I became an HIV prevention instructor for the Red Cross, one of 14 in the state. It was a great course and I learned so much and met so many great people.

MAY- This was a busy month- Kenna had her bachelorette party the first weekend which was so much fun. As you can tell--->

Then the next weekend Trav, me, Reggie and Gus went camping up at Boca Reservoir-The weather was beautiful and it was a really nice and relaxing time...Reggie and Gus loved it too but kinda got pooped by the second day so we sent them home with friends.

For Memorial Day weekend the whole family headed to Lamoille Canyon and it was so beautiful there, you wouldn't think a place like that exists in Nevada, but it is one of the most amazing plsces I've ever been. It was great spending time with the family and we had a great time, and all got along great, despite what this photo might make you think.

JUNE- Another insane month for me. The 13th through the 16th we went on the yearly boat trip to Lake Shasta and it was so much fun. We rented a smaller boat this year and less people came which meant no random people which was a good change from last year. This is the trip everyone looks forward to each year and it is just a time to not really think about all the things at home that stress you out and no one got hurt this year even though Travis had a run in with a rattlesnake (which he promptly killed with a rock).

The day after we got back from Shasta I was on a plane to Vegas for Kenna and Jerry's wedding which has been posted all over Sara's blog if you want to read about it (I know, i'm lazy).

JULY- The 4th Travis, Steve, Weaver and I floated down the Truckee and our goal was to go from Mayberry to downtown. Unfortunately, the sun decided to be a jerk and never came out so we were freezing and luckily Luke and Eric were at a park (which I have never seen before but it was heaven when I did) and they plucked us out of the river, and saved my life :) We watched fireworks that night and I fell asleep while the whole party went to look for Steve's dog who took off during the fireworks, but they found her.

Mom's birthday was on the 19th and although I couldn't be with her that day, my heart was.

At the end of the month we went to Salt Lake to one of Trav's friend's weddings. I got to meet all the grandparents and his friend's from high school.

AUGUST- The month is half over already, and the summer is coming to a close :( but last weekend was Hot August Nights which I personally hate. What made it better was that Kenna and Jerry came into town but they only stayed the weeked, which wasn't long enough. We went to Buckbean Brewery for an event Marcus was having and then down to the Truckee and looked at cars, we also saw Pineapple Express which I thought was hilarious, even if it was a little stupid. Then we had breakfast with everyone on Sunday morning and they took off. Like I said, it wasn't enough time.
<------- Us at Buckbean (stolen from Sara)
Well, that's the recap, I'll try not to wait so long to post again....try, no guarantee :)

Off to Elko and Winne-mucks "Till the Cows Come Home"

I know this is going to make a lot of you (all 2 people who read my blog) really jealous, but I will be heading to Elko and Winnemucca tomorrow for work. Yee Haw!

I have decided to commemorate my trip with a picture of a cowboy who apparently doesn't know how a camera works.

I'm not trying to depress anyone but...

I started thinking about Shak ( "shake") today. My friend Lindsey has a sick husky that looks almost exactly like him and I started reminiscing, so I looked online and found him on the kennel website under the "In Memory" portion. I admit, I got a little teary. I remebered how my dad made me pick up a piece of poo with my bare hand to prove how much I wanted a dog (I'm pretty sure that would constitute as child abuse now, but the jokes on him, I think that is the only poo i've ever picked up). I remember driving home and him peeing on my lap, not a lot, but just enough to make it look like I had peed. I remember the "Little Mermaid" sleeping bag that he loved to hump and how happy he was the first day we got Ruby. Shak wasn't just a dog, he was a part of our family. Now we all have our own dogs (Reggie, Gus, Bailey, Sammy and Maggie) and they too are part of our family, no matter how annoying or destructive they are (Maggie & Gus i'm talking to you).

Keeping up the momentum

So, I don't really have much to talk about, but I knew that if I didn't post anything soon that I wouldn't ever post again and a one post blog is just to sad to exist.  I decided instead of deleting my blog all together (I know kinda extreme) that I would just post something about, well, nothing.  So here it goes, I am sick today with that nasty bug that everyone else has, thanks a lot everyone, and I always forget how crappy it feels to feel crappy.  I don't want to do anything, thus the blogging, and I am even getting tired writing this.  Wow, I just realized Emeril is on and I didn't even know he had a show still, weird.  He's looking kinda bloated, maybe he wants to lay off the salt. BAM!

I think that's good enough for now.

Finally on the Bandwagon

I decided to finally give in to cyber peer pressure and start my own blog.  I don't really know how exciting my life is or if anyone would really want to read any of this stuff, but maybe someday Reggie will learn how to use a computer (oh and read) and he'll want to see what I'm up to, you never know, he's very sophisticated.  Other than that, this blog is really just for me and I am making no promises of clever thoughts or any thoughts at all for that matter, but I will try and make posts often. But again, no promises of that either.
